FAREPORTAL is building a customized
version of its flagship Advanced Booking System for Fareline,
with an expected launch date in early 2005. Several
enhancements, based on Fareline's requirements, will be
incorporated in the new system. Among the features slated for
an upgrade is the Net Fares Database, which will be modified
to accommodate the complicated multi-airline contracts which
Fareline sells. The system will not require a login to search
and book, so the fares can be marketed
to travelers. However, registered travel professionals can use the same site, and will
get access to their special rates and content based on their login.
This dual entry system allows for a powerful CRM functionality, and an optimized sale environment
based on user type.
FAREPORTAL adds true portal capabilities
to the booking engine for the first time in this market.
Fareline will now have the capability to combine their
Negotiated fares with third party Consolidator fares, ATPCO
fares, and Published fares; and display all fare types on a
single screen to their travel agency members and travelers. In
addition to competitively priced coach airfares from multiple
sources, Fareline will offer discounted First and Business
class fares online. "We are very pleased to welcome a
prestigious company like Fareline as a customer," said Avik Chopra, Chief Information Officer of
FAREPORTAL, "and we consider it an endorsement of the value
of our travel technology and content."
