CheapOair Wins Second Consecutive Top Sales Agency Award from Ethiopian Airlines


CheapOair is excited to be the recipient of the Top Sales Agency Award from Ethiopian Airlines for the second consecutive year. This award is given annually to recognize the top sellers of Ethiopian Airlines tickets throughout the year.

CheapOair named “Best in Class” by Interactive Media Awards

bestinclassCreated by the Interactive Media Council (IMC), a nonprofit organization of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals, Interactive Media Awards recognize the highest standards of excellence in website design and development.
Out of 224 entries in the Travel/Tourism category, only 7 were selected as Best in Class winners, with additional 4 receiving Outstanding Achievement mentions. CheapOair website scored the win with a high, overall score of 481 out of 500. Marking our website’s first award, this is an exciting start to hopefully many more.

CheapOair App wins Gold at MarCom Awards

We’re excited to announce that our mobile app and mobile website were named as Gold winners in two categories – Mobile App of the Year and Mobile Website of the Year – in MarCom Awards.

marcomn-logoOrganized by the Global Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, MarCom Awardsis an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. More than 6,500 entries were received this year, from U.S., Canada and 15 other countries, with winners ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.
Both our entries won Gold awards, with only 23% of entrants recognized with the Gold award. While this is of course not the first recognition for our Top 10 app, it is the first accolade for our mobile website – a very exciting achievement that showcases our engineering, design and marketing teams’ excellent work and that will hopefully be only the first of many future recognitions.

Veronica Silver and Corissa Leong win Silver Stevie Awards

The results of the 11th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business are in and both Corissa Leong, VP of Global Human Resources, and Veronica Silver, VP of Automation and Product Development, were named silver winners in the Female Executive of the Year category!

stevies_silverJudged by hundreds of executives from around the world, Stevie Awards for Women is the world’s most prestigious business awards program honoring female executives and entrepreneurs and the businesses they run. In their first global business awards entries, our female executives were only beat out by PayPal. The full list of winners is listed here.
Congratulations to Corissa and Veronica on this prestigious global recognition and their numerous achievements and excellent work at Fareportal. We are thrilled to know we’re not the only ones who appreciate their work – and to see this tangible, third party accolade from a high-profile global business awards program for our female leadership.

CheapOair Contact Centers nominated for two International Service Excellence Awards

CheapOair’s customer service contact centers (seven total across the globe) have been nominated for ‘Contact Center of the Year’ as well as ‘Customer Focused Innovations of the Year’ within the 7th Annual International Service Excellence Awards.

CheapOAir---CCOrganized by the Customer Service Institute of America and International Council of Customer Service Organizations, International Service Excellence Awards are the preeminent awards for the customer service profession and are designed to recognize, promote, and reward excellence, professionalism, and outstanding achievement in the industry.
Up against more than 80 applicants in the Contact Center category, CheapOair was named one of 12 finalists. CheapOair was also named as one of only five finalists in the Customer Focused Innovations category, out of 50 applicants. In both categories, only the top 10-15% of applicants were selected as finalists.Judged by customer service experts and with previous winners including such industry leaders as Delta, FedEx and Wells Fargo, these nominations demonstrate the success of our tremendous efforts and focus on providing unsurpassed customer service to each of our customers.
The final stage of the judging process in these awards included a site visit to our Manhattan contact center on November 10th.

Fareportal gives $5,000 to Covenant House

This will be the third year that Fareportal CEO Sam Jain has sponsored Covenant House’s A Night of Broadway Stars event. Fareportal donated $5,000 to the organization, as well as two domestic roundtrip airline tickets for a raffle at the event. The Fareportal staff participated in the event as well, which aids Covenant House’s ongoing mission of helping homeless kids escape the streets.
