FAREPORTAL Releases Advanced Booking System for Consolidator Fares
New York - September 14, 2004 - FAREPORTAL, the first company to offer a Consolidator Booking Engine for the most complicated, multi-airline, multi-stop contracts, has just announced the release of its next generation Advanced Booking System for Consolidator and Non-Published fares. Based on extensive feedback from the travel community, this system adds true portal capabilities to the booking engine for the first time in this market. Travel companies can now combine their Consolidator fares with Published, Private, as well as Web fares from over 32 different web-sites and display them on a single screen to their clients. All airfare contracts can be managed via a sophisticated FPDataManager System which is accessible online. The system also includes car rental and hotel content, as well as offline products like travel insurance.
FAREPORTAL has advantages over other systems because it is built on the latest .NET technology. It allows complete customization, from the look and feel to multiple levels of markups for different sets of clients. It uses advanced logic for automatic class up-sell, tax calculation for non-published fares, and open-jaw itineraries. It includes built-in real time reports for managing sales, and follows the life-cycle of a booking with an up-to-date status listing for each booking.
FAREPORTAL launched the Advanced Booking System at the NBTA convention in Orlando in August, where it was well received, and resulted in a great deal of interest. This official release of the product comes with several major Consolidators already signed up. Clients on the older Consolidator Booking Engine will be migrated to the new Advanced Booking System over the course of the next few weeks.
"We are delighted by the success of the Advanced Booking System", said Avik Chopra, CIO of FAREPORTAL, "and very pleased with the reaction of the travel community to the latest version of our online booking system, which gives Consolidator fare distribution a next generation booking capability which until now was missing and sorely needed."
FAREPORTAL, an employee owned company based out of New York City, was established in 2001, and today offers several leading technology products to the travel industry. Click on products and services for more information on FAREPORTAL offerings.
