Mergers & Acquisitions

We are also interested in talking to companies in the travel industry about a Fareportal investment. Our focus is the travel industry, from agencies to consolidators (air, hotel and car), to technology companies and web site publishers in the travel space. Our investments range from $1 to $10 million of equity and or subordinated debt, in profitable well managed companies. We do not fund startups or turnarounds. Strategic alliances with other private equity firms allow investments of up to $50 million.

Investment Philosophy

We work with current management to help build successful businesses. As members of the Board of Directors of our portfolio companies, we assist management in:

  • Development of strategic and financial plans
  • Strategic technology investment decisions
  • Recruitment of key personnel using our extensive travel industry contacts
  • Strategy development for consumer e-commerce web sites, especially in the travel vertical

We work closely with shareholders and management to develop a transaction that works most effectively for all parties. Specifically, we are flexible and:

  • Provide growth capital to businesses and liquidity to owners
  • Accommodate the needs of the company and selling shareholders
  • Offer equity and or debit capital support for teams to pursue buyouts

We look for successful companies where our strategic advice and capital can enable management teams to build capabilities and expand geographically. We focus on companies with the following characteristics:

  • Revenues of $10 million to $100 million per year
