Ed Faberman

Ed Faberman joined Fareportal as an advisory board member in January of 2011. Ed is the co-chair of the Aviation Practice group at Wiley Rein. Before entering private practice, he was the Deputy Chief Counsel and Assistant Chief Counsel, Regulation and Enforcement at the Federal Aviation Administration and Assistant General Counsel and Vice President of Government Affairs at American Airlines. Ed represents aviation clients on business, legislative and regulatory issues before the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), U.S. Department of Homeland Security/Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Congress. He also represents radio stations that are proposing to build towers.

 

While at the FAA, Ed received several honors including:

Recipient of Presidential Award from President Reagan for managing the restructuring of the air traffic control system, airline restructuring and airport growth during the early 1980s.
Received award from Federal Aviation Administration Administrator for investigating the American Airlines DC-10 accident (1979).

 

As a result of his efforts in establishing a new security workforce, systems, and requirements after 9/11, he was honored with the TSA Partnership Award for supporting enhanced security and customer service for airline passengers (2003).
