Vince Caminiti

Vince Caminiti joined Fareportal as an Advisory Board member in Sept 2010. He has over 38 years of management experience in the airline industry and is an expert in airline sales and distribution, sales management, e-commerce and business development. Vince was Senior Vice President e-Business for Delta Air Lines at its world headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia until his retirement in 2004.

 

During his 10 year career at Delta, he was responsible for developing the airline's e-business strategy in conjunction with the airline's core business divisions. He began and led the development and investment in delta.com moving its online transactions from less than 1% in 1997 to over 20% of by 2005. Additionally, he oversaw Delta's participation with new industry consortia, including Orbitz. As a board member of Orbitz, Vince was instrumental in leading Delta's involvement in the building, IPO and ultimate sale of Orbitz.com.

 

In addition, as SrVP Sales and Distribution, he lead 10,000 employees in managing Delta's second largest expense. He developed Delta's distribution strategy driving over $2 billion in annual revenue from various channels including reservations offices, travel agents and corporate customers world wide. In 1996, Business Travel News named him one of the industries "Most Influential Executives".

 

Vince came to Delta as Vice President - Sales in 1994 from American Airlines. At American, he served as Managing Director - Field Sales, Programs and Support. He joined American in 1966 and served in a number of sales and services positions. He is a graduate of Fordham University with a BS degree in marketing.
