Role Description
We are looking for a Data Engineer /Data Modeler to join our team. You will be handling hundreds of millions of events per day, responsible for creating and supporting data infrastructures that will drive our business.

Data Engineers are at the heart of how Fareportal works, and they are part business expert, data modelling expert and part technologist. You will focus on designing and maintaining our core data models that manage and store our most important data from which we derive much of our business decision making and facilitate our advanced data science functions to drive business outcomes. The ideal candidate will participate in the designing of data models and implementation of the entire data pipeline, from project ideation, figuring out which data to capture and store, coming up with architectures, to creating the final data sets/ data flows and monitoring.

• Own the data modeling process by understanding the business objectives that data users are looking to achieve from the data and make data model design decisions.
• Own one or more Data Domains becoming the recognized content expert for that domain including understanding data consumer requirements, understand data source constraints related to this domain.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to comprehend diverse business requirement and translate them into effective data models.
• Ensure the integrity and quality of master data, implementing best practices.
• Understanding of different data modelling approaches and when to use Scheme vs Relational vs Graph.
• Develop, implement, and maintain data applications in various data formats and architectures.
• Evaluate and ensure data integrity across various formats through mature, high-quality, well-organized code with fully developed unit and testing.

• You like to share your knowledge and guide other fellow data engineers and scientists

• 5+ years’ experience data modelling including creation and maintenance of centralized master data or enterprise data models
• Ideally worked in an ecommerce environment including designing and managing data models for storing and Attributing WebAnalytics / Clickstream data to drive customer behavior analytics
• Ideally worked with Master Data Management solutions.
• A strong technical advocate with a background in working with Data Modeling tools and SQL as language.
• Built attribution models of data on how to show people interactions with websites.
