Travelong Ranks 11th in Travel Weekly’s 2011 Power List

NEW YORK, June 29, 2011

In Travel Weekly’s prestigious Power List, released Monday, Travelong ranked number 11, moving up two positions over last year’s rank of 13. This advancement positions Travelong among the top travel companies, ranking it alongside industry leaders such as Expedia, American Express, Priceline, Orbitz, and AAA Travel.

The 2011 Power List recognizes the significant growth achieved by Travelong and its affiliate, CheapOair, over the last year. 2010 sales at $1.6 billion doubled those of 2009 and are attributable to the launch of key initiatives and significant investments, all focused on creating value and the best quality experience for customers.

2010 milestones include the launch of dynamic packaging to meet customers’ desire for one-stop shopping for air and hotel vacation packages, the launch of a customer loyalty rewards program and technological and marketing investments, including new media programs and expanded public relations and social media marketing.

“We look forward to Travel Weekly’s Power List every year and are absolutely thrilled that we’ve moved up in our ranking,” said Sam Jain, CEO of Travelong. “The Travelong team works diligently to improve our product and expand what we offer customers every year. It’s great to see the hard work of the company pay off.”

Travel Weekly’s annual Power List celebrates outstanding improvements made by companies in the travel industry with its annual ranking system. Travel Weekly was established in 1958 and is written for U.S. travel agents, tour operators, corporate travel executives and travel industry suppliers.
