Pay for Your Flights Over Time on CheapOair.com and OneTravel.com with Affirm

Fareportal, the travel technology company powering CheapOair.com and OneTravel.com, has partnered with the financial technology company, Affirm, to allow customers to seamlessly pay for flights over time. This new feature gives customers greater access to travel by offering them a quick, simple, and transparent way to book travel now and pay over time in-line with their budget.

CheapOair and OneTravel customers can now apply at checkout for the option to pay in installments over a three-, six-, or 12-month period. Customers enter five simple pieces of information to check eligibility and a decision is made in real-time. Upon approval, customers are offered between 10% – 30% APR and can see exactly what they’ll pay on a monthly basis for each of the three term options available. For example, a $300 purchase at 10% APR spread out over three months would cost $101.69 per month.

“Travel purchases can be expensive whether you’re traveling across the country or across the world,” said Sam S. Jain, Founder and CEO at Fareportal. “We strive to be the most affordable travel booking option and we are pleased that our new partnership with Affirm will give our customers a simple payment option to make higher-priced transactions more manageable.”

“While travel is fun and exciting, many consumers want the ability to spread out the cost of a trip over time rather than part ways with the total cost upfront,” said Max Levchin, Founder and CEO at Affirm. “Affirm gives Fareportal’s customers the ability to spread costs out over time without hidden fees or compounding interest and provides travelers with the confidence that they can afford it.”

Family Spring Breakers Continue to Flock to Florida As the Caribbean Sees Travel Spike in April

The first wave of family spring break has come to an end, but students from major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. are getting ready for their recesses at the end of April. CheapOair®, an online travel agency and leading provider of cheap flights, has analyzed the latest travel trends to determine the top destinations for elementary, middle, and high school families with spring break in April1.

Florida continues to dominate this year’s domestic travel list for family spring breakers with Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, and Tampa claiming the first three spots. Miami and Fort Myers also made it into the top ten.  Internationally, Mexico and the Caribbean hold a strong presence, pushing out the European destinations that were popular with families during the March spring break period.

“For April travel, we are seeing many of the traditional spring break spots resurface, particularly among our international top ten destinations,” said Tom Spagnola, SVP of Supplier Relations at CheapOair. “As summer nears, we’re seeing an increase in airfares to Europe which has changed the options available for budget-conscious families traveling at the end of April.”

In April, average domestic airfare this year is $423 while international airfare is averaging around $570. The cheapest domestic destination is Tampa, FL with an airfare of $334. Internationally, Cancun is the cheapest of the international destinations with an average airfare of $486.

By consistently monitoring travel trends, CheapOair’s mission is to educate and aid consumers and travel professionals in both planning their travel accommodations and staying current on the most popular destinations.
