CheapOair’s Labor Day Ticket Trends Bode Well for Travel Industry

The travel industry may be changing but as the world adjusts to living safely during a pandemic, people are once again gaining the confidence to travel. CheapOair, the flight focused agency, dug into their consumer habits data and have identified Labor Day travel trends that imply an upswing in the industry overall.

According to CheapOair data, there has been in a 250% increase in customers searching for travel options ahead of Labor Day weekend and that number is escalating as the popular holiday weekend approaches.

“As always, we advise caution while navigating travel in the age of COVID-19 but we’re optimistic that both airlines and popular tourist destinations are adapting to the new guidelines and safety precautions,” remarked Sam S. Jain, Founder and CEO of Fareportal, owner of travel brands CheapOair and OneTravel.

Unlike years past there is less focus on particular destinations. Approximately 80% of consumers searching for trips are seeking value over location by opting to plan their vacation around locations that will garner them the best deal.

Interestingly, customers looking for a specific destination sought out flights to Las Vegas, which was the top location searched by CheapOair customers.

“More than ever, consumers are looking for budget-friendly options when planning travel, and now is a good time to take advantage of lower than usual ticket prices. While we usually see a dip in prices after Labor Day, more airlines are keen on incentivizing customers during one of the year’s peak travel seasons,” continued Jain.

CheapOair Offers Tips and Safety Tricks for Planning a Fall Solo Trip

As summer winds down, many are starting to consider their fall travel plans, even in these uncertain times. In fact, as travel norms shift in the wake of COVID-19, a lot of people are opting to travel alone. CheapOair, the vacation planning specialists, weighs in on how traveling alone this fall can be safe, fun, and affordable.

One of the clearest benefits of traveling alone is the amount of money saved. This rings especially true for anyone traveling in the fall, which is well-known for being one of the cheapest times of the year to travel.

“Usually as summer reaches its end, ticket prices nationwide take a dip and stay low until around October when people start making their holiday plans. This is a fantastic opportunity for folks to grab a cheap flight for a fall getaway,” said Sam S. Jain, Founder and CEO of Fareportal, owner of travel brands CheapOair and OneTravel.

While traveling solo can be exciting, there are several steps any solo adventurer should take into consideration when planning their trip.

“In my opinion, the most important measure any solo traveler can take is to plan ahead! Have your route mapped out, the numbers of every hotel and airline available to you, and always share your itinerary with a loved one so they have an idea where you are in case of an emergency,” remarked Tom Spagnola, Senior Vice President of Supplier Relations of Fareportal.

Other important safety measures to take into consideration include sharing your phone’s location with a trusted loved one and making sure there is WiFi and cell phone service at various checkpoints during your travels.

Nature is Calling! CheapOair Recommends their Top National Parks Picks to Safely Visit

How Americans vacation looks different than it has in past years but that doesn’t mean planning a trip isn’t possible. CheapOair, the travel experience experts, offers insight into a few of their favorite and safest National Parks destinations across the country.

“In the midst of a pandemic, crowded cities are certainly not ideal vacation destinations but fortunately there are dozens of gorgeous National Parks that offer safe and socially distanced options for the perfect getaway. Travelers are trading in luxury hotels for breathtaking views from their tents,” remarked Sam S. Jain, Fareportal Founder and CEO.

Yosemite National Park
Located in northern California, Yosemite is one of the most well-known National Parks in the U.S.  With 1,169 square miles of unforgettable hiking trails and valleys, exciting wildlife (you may be able to spot a bear from a safe distance!), and massive ancient sequoia trees that will leave anyone awestruck, it’s truly a one-of-kind American landmark.

Travel Advisory: The park is currently open with all its primary activities active. Please visit this site for more information and safety tips: https://www.yosemite.com/covid-19/

Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve
This southern Colorado oasis is home to North America’s largest sand dunes that are estimated to have formed over 11,000 years ago. While this park is the perfect place for traditional outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and stargazing (the Milky Way is easily visible at certain times of the year!), it also offers unique activities such as sand sledding and sandboarding!

Travel Advisory: As of June 17th, The Great Sand Dunes Park has entered Phase 2 of its re-opening with increased recreational access and activities. Visit this site for more information: https://www.nps.gov/grsa/planyourvisit/conditions.htm

Isle Royale National Park
Michigan, already known for its over 11,000 lakes, boasts this beautiful gem of a National Park. Located on a remote island in Lake Superior, people from all over flock to this unique piece of land to fish, kayak, boat, and camp. Isle Royale is also the only National Park in the U.S to be closed for the entirety of its off-season which spans from November-April.

Travel Advisory: All campgrounds, docks, and trails are currently open to the public.
