CheapOair Wins Three Travel Weekly Magellan Awards

CheapOair, a top 10 online travel agency was awarded three Silver Magellan Awards by Travel Weekly today. CheapOair won in the TV Commercial category for its “Get There for Less” TV ad campaign, in the Promotional Video category for its “Crazy in Love” YouTube social media contest, and in the Blog category for its growing CheapOair Travel Blog that delivers up to date travel trends, tips on how to book cheap flights and much more.
“We look forward to Travel Weekly’s Magellan Awards every year and are absolutely thrilled we have been recognized in three categories,” says CheapOair’s CEO and President, Sam Jain. “The CheapOair team works diligently to improve our product and expand every year. In 2010, CheapOair launched its first ever television campaign targeting the leisure travel market. The 30-second ads featured the tag-line “Get There for Less,” an expression of the company’s commitment and promise to put quality and value first for smart shoppers who continue to demand the best of both. The ads used humor to demonstrate the consequences of not booking with CheapOair, versus the benefits of being able to do more when you “Get There for Less” by relying on CheapOair for your travel needs.
Additionally, this past winter, CheapOair decided to warm things up online by holding a “Crazy in Love” YouTube contest. Couples vied for top honors, a grand prize trip for two to Fiji, by submitting creative 30 second homemade videos demonstrating how crazy in love they are. The winner, of course, was announced on Valentine’s Day and the grand prize travel package included the option of tying the knot in Fiji.
Lastly, the CheapOair Travel Blog, which provides the latest travel news, including destinations, events, tech, trends and tips for finding cheap airfares, won the Blog Category Silver Magellan Award for their impressive 500% growth in unique visitors in 2010. The CheapOair Travel Blog is also a platform for co-branded partnerships with creative and engaging promotions. Last year CheapOair gave away prizes to amazing destinations such as London, Cancun, Aruba, Curacao, Montreal and South Africa.
