CheapOair Announces Top Destinations for Labor Day Weekend Travel

Leading Online Travel Agency’s Data Shows The Most Popular Booking Trends for the Holiday Weekend

CheapOair, a leading flights-focused, next generation concierge travel service consisting of a traditional travel agency with a digital front end, announced today the top ten domestic and international destinations its consumers are traveling to for Labor Day Weekend.  This year’s data shows that the most popular vacation spots include many of the same cities visited last year, including Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago and Orlando, while also showing that there are still airfare deals to be found for each.

“Many of the top destinations from 2015 are once again on the short list of the must travel-to cities for Labor Day weekend this year,” said Thomas Spagnola, Senior Vice President of Supplier Relations at CheapOair. “Nine out of ten domestic destinations have a roundtrip fare of under $300, showing that this is an ideal time to take advantage of low prices on airfare.”

CheapOair’s data also highlighted interesting findings, including that because lead time for bookings has decreased, airfare prices have decreased as well – which is great news for the spontaneous traveler.  “This year, we’ve seen an increase in last minute bookings within 10 – 20 days before the consumer’s travel dates due to a decrease in fares,” added Spagnola.

Domestically, this year’s top city for Labor Day Weekend travel is Las Vegas, with an average roundtrip ticket price of $280, which is down 3 percent from last year.  Orlando and Denver are runner up and third place on the list, both decreasing almost 10 percent in price.  Fort Lauderdale had the lowest prices available, with a roundtrip flight priced at $229, which is a whopping 39 percent price decrease from last year.  Time to hit those South Florida beaches!

CheapOair Announces Top Spring Break Destinations for 2016

Data shows airfare costs are down 7% domestically and 9% internationally for season

NEW YORK, March 21, 2016: CheapOair, the first flights-focused hybrid travel agency, announced today the top ten international and domestic destinations consumers are traveling to for spring break, between March 1st and April 4th. This year, spring has proven to be an ideal time for travel, as airfares have significantly decreased for top destinations, with domestic prices averaging $302, a 7% decrease from last year, and international prices averaging $546, a 9% decrease from the same period last year.

“After analyzing our year-over-year data on bookings, our 2016 prediction of declining costs in airfare has proved true thus far.  Due to the low prices of oil and airline capacity growth, airfare prices have dropped significantly across the board,” said Tom Spagnola, CheapOair’s Senior Vice President of Supplier Relations.  “Our data shows that it is the perfect time for travelers to take advantage of these lower prices, for both domestic and international travel.”

Among this year’s top domestic destinations, Los Angeles is the most popular city, with a roundtrip price of $313, down 13% from last year.  Out of the top ten domestic destinations, those who may be looking to pay the lowest prices for their trip should consider Dallas-Fort Worth, with an average airfare cost of $251.  Of the top ten cities, San Juan, Puerto Rico has seen the largest decrease in airfare price, dropping 18% since last year.
